On March 26th, the handover ceremony of the "Dianchao Engineer Academy of University of South China", a virtual engineer academy system, donated by the alumnus enterprise Shenzhen DianchaoTechnology Co., Ltd. with a value of 4.22 million yuan, was held in the meeting room of the School of Electrical Engineering.

The establishment of Dianchao Engineer Academy is a solid step taken by the university on the path of promoting the integration of industry and education as well as the integration of science and education. It is also a crucial measure for the university to deepen the education and teaching reform and improve the quality of talent cultivation. The university will make full use of the high-quality resources of the system in metaverse technology, electronic industry engineering technology and vocational training, and work closely with Dianchao Technology to jointly build a virtual engineer college with distinct characteristics of University of South China, so as to provide teachers and students with a more advanced and efficient teaching and practice platform.

Shenzhen Dianchao Technology Co., Ltd. was founded by Liu Min, an alumnus majoring in industrial management of the class of 1985 of our university. In 2024, in response to the call of "Alumni Returning to Hunan", alumnus Liu Min returned to his alma mater to give an academic report and generously donated a set of virtual engineer academy system worth 4.22 million yuan to help his alma mater cultivate outstanding engineer talents. This system, through advanced technologies such as virtual reality and artificial intelligence, provides students with an immersive and interactive learning environment, enabling students to conduct engineering practice operations in virtual scenes and greatly improving students' practical abilities and innovative thinking. He said that as an enterprise in the field of digital empowerment engineering in the electronic industry, Dianchao Technology will work with University of South China to jointly promote the construction and development of the E-Forge Engineer College, and provide comprehensive and multi-level support for University of South China in aspects such as the guidance of cutting-edge technologies, the construction of curriculum systems, the implementation of practical projects and the cultivation of innovative abilities through advanced technologies such as virtual reality and artificial intelligence, so as to promote the in-depth integration of engineering ability education and digital technologies and cultivate more high-quality and highly skilled electronic engineering technical talents to contribute to the development of the national electronic industry.
