August 7, 2014, Kuming-- Three inventions by the students of the University won second-class prize and one third-class at the National College Student Energy-Saving and Emission Reduction Contest, an annual event sponsored by the Ministry of Education and hosted, this year, by Kunming University of Technology in the capital of the Southwestern Yunan Province.

Out of the 2395 works recommended by 256 colleges and universities throught the country, 160 from 71 colleges and universities came into the final after the first three rounds of assessment.

The on-spot final lasted three days, including document assessment, defendance and demonstration.

This is the first time for the University to enter the final. The three second-class prize inventions are Pedaling Multiple-Function Kitchen Garbage Disposer, HVEF Sea Water Desalinization System, and WeiniSunlight Transmitter.
