On the morning of October 27th, the opening ceremony of the "Innovation & Sharing Future " Innovation and Entrepreneurship Activity Week of USC was held in the Academic Auditorium of the Library at the Hongxiang Campus. Zhou Shaofeng, Director of the Student Affairs Department of the Provincial Department of Education, attended and delivered a speech. Wang Lihua, Member of the University Party Committee and Vice President, announced the opening of the activity week. Xia Kun, Member of the University Party Committee and Vice President, attended and delivered a speech. Zhou Shaofeng stated in his speech that USC has created multiple "NO.1s" in the field of college students' entrepreneurship and is leading the province, playing a good exemplary and guiding role. He pointed out that entrepreneurship is the engine of the development of the times. Hunan Province is committed to building a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem and carefully cultivating every "golden seed". Today's dedicated support will surely lead to the fruitful "golden fruits" of tomorrow. He hoped that the university would take this Innovation and Entrepreneurship Activity Week as an opportunity to continue bold exploration, continuously innovate in aspects such as gathering mentors and integrating resources, further stimulate students' innovation and entrepreneurship vitality, and cultivate more innovation and entrepreneurship talents for Hunan's education cause and economic and social development.
Xia Kun stated that USC has always attached great importance to innovation and entrepreneurship education, taking proactive and initiative measures to comprehensively promote various work related to college students' innovation and entrepreneurship, achieving a series of accomplishments. Standing at a new stage of development, the country has an even more urgent need for innovation and entrepreneurship than ever before. The faculty and students of USC will strive to be pioneers in serving the construction of an education power and an education power province, be innovative vanguards in the university's "Double First-Class" construction, and be new-era individuals with comprehensive development in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor aspects. Issue appointments letter for entrepreneurship mentors
At the opening ceremony, university leaders presented appointment letters to six entrepreneurial mentors including Deng Zhiwei, Xiao Bayi, Liu Liang, Tan Jialong, Yang Xin, and Cheng Zhong. Combining their own entrepreneurial experiences, Deng Zhiwei and Cheng Zhong encouraged students to be brave in trying, dare to break through, think big and create, and at the same time, to innovate by integrating with their professional knowledge and following the industrial planning of regional and national strategies, so as to truly achieve great undertakings.
After the opening ceremony, the participants collectively went to Nanhua Square to visit the innovation and entrepreneurship achievement exhibition. This innovation and entrepreneurship activity week will last from October 27 to November 2, and will carry out 13 series of activities including entrepreneurship lectures, achievement exhibitions, and project roadshows. It aims to further strengthen university-enterprise innovation and entrepreneurship cooperation, promote college students to temper their true knowledge, and actively devote themselves to the era trend of innovation and entrepreneurship.
Heads of all secondary units of the university, student representatives who won the 2025 National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program project, instructors and student representatives who won the first - prize or above in provincial discipline competitions in 2025, project instructors and entrepreneurial student representatives in the Entrepreneurship Park, and student representatives of the school's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Association attended the opening ceremony.
