
Gao Shan, male, Han ethnicity, was born in February 1969, a native of Changsha, Hunan. He is a member of the Communist Party of China, Doctor of Management, a researcher, and a doctoral supervisor. He is currently the Party secretary of the University of South China.
He has successively served as the deputy director of the President's Office of Central South University of Technology, the deputy director and director of the President's Office of Central South University, the director of the Office of Central South University, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Central South University, the deputy Party secretary of Central South University, and a member of the Standing Committee of the Changsha Municipal Party Committee and the head of the Publicity Department, among other positions.
He mainly engages in research on risk governance and higher education management. He has presided over more than 10 projects, including the General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Project of Marxist Theory Research and Construction of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, and major projects of the Hunan Social Science Foundation. He has served as the chief editor of the Blue Book Series of the China Society for Emergency Management, namely the Development Report on China's Emergency Education and Campus Security. He has published many monographs, such as Research on the Cultural Management of University Disciplines and Risk Analysis of Campus Security Incidents, and has published more than 30 papers in influential academic journals at home and abroad. He has successively won honors such as the First Prize of the Campus Culture Construction Achievements of the Ministry of Education, the Second Prize of the Science and Technology Progress of the Non-ferrous Metals Industry of China, and the First Award of the Outstanding Achievements in the First Informationization Construction in Hunan Province.
