Hu Zheng, research fellow with No 702 Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, graduated from the then Zhongnan Institute of Science and Technolgy as a major in computer science in 1989.

Having long been engaged in the R&D of manned submarines , Hu was appointed vice director and vice chief designer of China's manned submarine Jiaolong Diving Program of 7000m below the sea level.

Hu is now listed as one of the "National Pioneering Talents in Science and Technolgy", a project launched by the Department of Organization of Central Committee of the Party in 2013.
