On the evening of December 29, 2016, the New Year Party was held at the Auditorium. Prof. Wang Hanqing, chairman of the University Council, attended the event along with other members of the administration as well as hundreds of students and teachers.

The party began with Wang's annual review of the passing 2016. In his inspiring speech, Wang highlighted the achievements of the past year, and called for greater effort for the upgrade of the University in the coming 2017. 

The party lasted about 120 minutes comprising dozens of fascinating performances.
