The Coordinative Innovation Center for Molecular Target Drug Research and Development has been listed in the second batch of Hunan “Coordinative Innovation Centers”.
With the University as its lead institute, the Center takes Central South University, Sun Yat-sen University and Hunan Hengsheng Drug Corporation, Ltd. as its core coordinative partners, and Wuhan University, Nanjing TCM University and Shanghai Drug Institute of China Academy of Science as its major participants.
Oriented by the State’s strategic demands such as the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, cancer and infectious disorders and the promotion of traditional medicine, the Center will serve as a combining platform of research, development, manufacturing and application in the field of molecular target medicine and serve to foist talents in the field.

The Center will be led by Prof. Wu Yimou, a well-known scholar and expert in Mycoplasmology with the University.
This is the second provincially approved coordinative innovation center of the University, after the Coordinative Innovation Center for Nuclear Fuel Recycling and Equipment, which was among the first batch of the Province in 2013.
