Students of the University were awarded prizes for two designs at the Fourth National Contest of Designs by Mining Majors, which was hosted by Xingjiang University in the northwestern city of Urumqi.

The two designs are second-class prize winner Wechat-Based Learning Platform for Mining Majors of USC and third class prize winner Mathmatic Mode of Faucet Design in Mineral Leaching Techniques.

The contest is an annual event sponsored by the Guiding Committee of Mining Sciences Teaching of MOE since 2011 and has now become a showcase of the originality and creativity of the mining students nationwide.

This year, 34 colleges and universities with mining programs entered for the compeition.
