May 12, 2014,Mianyang,Sichuan - Framework Agreement of Strategic Cooperation between University of South China and China Academy of Engineering Physics was inked by Prof. Wu Yimou, vice president of USC and his counterpart of CAEP.

Zhou Xiangeng, director of CAEP, and Zou Shuliang Party chief of USC, attended the signing ceremony. Also attending the ceremony were other officials of CAEP and Zou's entourage.

Both USC and CAEP used to be subordinates to the then Second Ministry of Mechanics, later known as Ministry of Nuclear Industry.
