On the eve of Qingming, a day for Chinese nationals to worship their late relatives and ancesters, USC students came and paid their tributes to the Hengyang Memorial of the Martyrs Against-Japanese at Yueping Park.
Hengyang, home to University of South China, is well-known in history for its 48-day sad, fierce and epic defending battle against the Japanese invasion from June to August, 1944.
The Memorial was first erected by the then Guomingdang-led Chinese government in August 1948.
