Wu Jianchang (June 1939 - November 19, 2018):

· Personal Background: He was Born in Changsha, Hunan, graduated from the Non-ferrous Metallurgy major of Hengyang Mining and Metallurgy Engineering College (now the University of South China), and is an alumnus of the Non-ferrous Metallurgy major of the class of 1959.

· Political Affiliation: He joined the Communist Party of China in November 1978.

· Work Experience:

· He was engaged in scientific and technological information research on non - ferrous metals for a long time. He successively served as an engineer and deputy head of a department at the General Research Institute for Non - ferrous Metals in Beijing.

· Starting from December 1983, he served as the deputy head of the Development and Planning Department of the General Research Institute for Non - ferrous Metals and the deputy manager of the Non - ferrous Metals Science and Technology Consulting Service Company.

· From April 1984 to May 1986, he served as the deputy general manager and member of the Party Leadership Group of the China National Non - ferrous Metals Industry Corporation.

· From May 1986 to August 1994, he served as the deputy general manager and deputy secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the China National Non - ferrous Metals Industry Corporation.

· From August 1994 to December 1997, he served as the general manager and secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the China National Non - ferrous Metals Industry Corporation.

· From December 1997 to March 1998, he served as the vice minister and member of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry.

· From March 1998 to March 2001, he served as the deputy director and member of the Party Leadership Group of the State Bureau of Metallurgical Industry (at the vice - ministerial level).

· From March 2001 to April 2011, he served as the secretary of the Party Committee and vice president of the China Iron and Steel Association.

· He was a delegate to the 13th, 14th, and 15th National Congresses of the Communist Party of China.

· He was the honorary president of the China Non - ferrous Metals Industry Association.

· In May 2015, he was employed as a consultant for the large - scale high - definition documentary series Great Power Steel.
