"Salute to the Extraordinary, Together We Create the Future." On the evening of December 31st, the University of South China held its 2025 New Year's Gala for faculty and students at the South China Auditorium. University Party Secretary Gao Shan, President Zhang Zhuohua, along with university leaders Jiang Zhisheng, Chen Guomin, Yu Tao, Liu Xinghua, and Xia Kun, as well as university Party committee member Liu Wenjun, gathered with nearly a thousand faculty and students to bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new, celebrating the festive occasion together.。
Gao Shan and Zhang Zhuohua delivered enthusiastic speeches at the event, paying tribute to the journey through 2024, the upcoming 2025, the relentless efforts and remarkable achievements of all members of the University of South China, as well as every touching moment. They extended New Year greetings to all faculty, students, and alumni, expressing their hopes that everyone would take new strides, achieve new accomplishments, and together embrace an even brighter future in the coming year.

The gala was divided into two chapters: "The Strivers: All Extraordinary" and "The Daredevils: Creating the Extraordinary." Through 11 diverse and spectacular performances, it vividly showcased the positive and striving spirit of South China University students, the dedication and commitment of faculty and staff to their work and nurturing students, as well as the deep affection of alumni for their alma mater and their solidarity through thick and thin. It also fully demonstrated the confidence and determination of the South China University community to uphold excellence and unite in striving for an even brighter future in the new year.

The gala commenced with a vibrant and majestic performance by the university's folk orchestra, featuring spirited melodies such as "Horse Racing" and "Golden Snake Dance," which set a jubilant tone for the New Year celebrations. The group dance "Fuchun" captured the graceful and delicate charm of women from the Jiangnan region, painting a picturesque scene of the nation's mountains and rivers. In contrast, the street dance "Map of Mountains and Rivers" showcased the dancers' powerful and rhythmic movements, vividly depicting the grandeur of the landscape and the dynamic changes within it. The exquisite runway show "Together Towards the Future" and the captivating magic performance "Light of Hope" elicited gasps of amazement from the audience. The Counselor Career Development Association presented the musical "Seasons for You," artistically portraying the daily interactions between counselors and students and highlighting the nurturing impact of their work. The chorus performances of "Seeking" and "As Wished" guided the audience through a reflective journey of historical milestones, offering insights into the progress of the times and gathering momentum for future endeavors. In the song and dance performance "Never Forget the Original Aspiration," the singer's moving voice expressed unwavering love for the motherland, while the dancers' graceful movements narrated touching stories, reminding everyone to always remember their original aspirations and the path they have traveled. The dance "Horse Bells Ringing the Song of Happiness" ignited the audience's enthusiasm with its lively rhythm, as dancers in vibrant costumes used their elegant movements to tell stories of happiness in the new era. The medley of songs, including "Red Flag Fluttering," "True Hero," "The Most Beautiful Sun," and "Life in Full Bloom," sang of steadfast love for the motherland and the determination and ambition of the South China University community to forge ahead and create a brighter future together.


The Nanhua Auditorium was packed to capacity that night. The audience waved red flags and glow sticks, and from time to time sent warm applause and cheers for the wonderful performances.

The evening party came to a gradual end with the grand chorus of the School Anthem of the University of South China. All the university leaders took group photos with the performers and staff as a souvenir.
This evening party was broadcast live simultaneously on four platforms, including the official video account of the university, its Douyin account, as well as the video accounts of Bangbangtuan on both WeChat and Douyin. The number of views exceeded 50,000.
