On December 10, University of South China held the opening ceremony of China’s first 100 kilowatt industrial fiber laser with the highest power. Leaders of relevant enterprises of CNNC, relevant departments and bureaus of Hunan Province, Hengyang City and the USC attended the opening ceremony. Gao Shan, Party Chief of the university, presided over the ceremony.

The laser was jointly developed by USC, Raycus Co., Ltd. and other units. It took only 6 months from the establishment of the project to the successful development and delivery of the laser. It is the first 100kW industrial fiber laser with the highest power in China, and it is also the second largest industrial laser in the world.

In recent years, University of South China has implemented the strategy of strengthening the university with talents, which makes the positive interaction between talents and scientific research, thus a good situation of deep integration of industry, university and research began to emerge.
