Prof. Wang Hanqing, chairman of the University Council and professor in civil engineering,was awarded Wednesday the 2018 provincial first-class prize for Progress in Science and Technology of Hunan at the award ceremony in Changsha.
Mr. Du Jiahao, party chief of CPC Hunan Province, and Mr. Xu Dazhe, governor, attended the big event, awarding the prizes to the winners.
The research Key Technologies for Comprehensive Treatment of High Temperature Industrial Exhaust Gas has spanned over a decade. Prof. Wang, the lead professor of the team, has maintained a long-term cooperation in the field with Airspace Kaitian, an environment-oriented enterprise in Changsha.
Over the past decade, Wang has masterminded the technological road map, undertaken the modelling, stimulating, experimenting, and calculating, directed the application and updates, and made, along with the team, a series of breakthroughs in key techniques.
The cutting-edge program has found wide application in 28 provinces in China, and has been accredited by a third party as an advanced level achievement in the world.
Parts of the results of the study have featured in Ventilation Engineering,a state-level textbook edited by Wang.
Another four programs by the University are also the prize winners: two silvers and two bronzes.
