Approved by the National Coordinative Committee against Nuclear Emergency, the University is the only national base for publicizing and training on nuclear emergency and a member of national Medicare against nuclear accident.

The mission of the base is to undertake the publicizing and training of nuclear safety for the professionals from all nuke-related enterprises and and personnel from watchdog departments of nuclear emergency at different levels, while the Medicare team is to offer immediate and fast aid in on-the-spot medical treatment, transportation of the injured, and dosage testing of individual exposure to the radiation as well as the psychological evaluation and intervention.
