Prof. Dr. Tan Kaixuan, dean of School of Nuclear Resources Engineering, was made member of Commission on Tectonics of Ore Deposits of the International Association on Genesis of Ore Deposits at the 14th International Conference on Genesis of Ore Deposits held from August 18 to 22 in Kunming of the southwest Yunan Province.

During the conference, the International Association on Genesis of Ore Deposits decided to restore the "Commission on Tectonics of Ore Deposits",  with its 25 members of the first panel from United States, Australia, Canada, China and some other countries.
