USC, June 11- The 2014 graduation ceremony of the University was held on the sports ground of Hongxiang Campus in the morning.

Chaired by Prof. Zou Shuliang, the Party Chief of USC, the ceremony began with the singing of the National Anthem of People's Republic of China. At the ceremony, Prof. Wen Gebo addressed an audience of both 2014 graduates and teachers and officials of the University. In his exciting speech, he quoted Winston Churchill as saying "To Conquer obstacles means obtaining opportunities," and told the students that passion, courage and persistence for life, all these stemmed from one's hope, and that the students should start their new voyage of life with dreams.

The speech was followed by the announcement of the decision and the ritual to award degrees to the 7155 bachelor candidates, 859 master candidates and 6 doctorate candidates respectively. Also awarded were the 171 Provincial-level and 258 collegiate-level honor graduates of 2014.

Two graduate representatives made a gratitude speech at the ceremony, in which they pledged that they would work hard, behave well and would never fail the expectations of the teachers and their alma mater.

After the chorus of the University anthem, the Party Chief concluded the event with his most touching words, "USC was, is and will be a harbor for all of her students and alumni."
